How to respect your privacy [PART 1]

Writer: Szymon MochortSzymon Mochort

This guide shows you what you need to replace in your digital life in order to live a more private life.

Search Engine

Use Startpage. It uses Google, but with a proxy so you won't get tracked.

Web Browser

You have 2 options. One is Firefox and the other is Ungoogled Chromium.

For People Who Don't Want To Let Go of Chrome

Ungoogled Chromium is the best option for you. It is a fork of Chromium, which is what Google Chrome is based off of, but it removes anything that's related to Google.

For People Who Don't Like Chrome

You can use Mozilla Firefox. Or should I say, moz://a Firefox.

Password Manager

Personally, I use LastPass, but I am starting to really despise the company. From pushing ads of its premium service in my face to locking my device type to just computers, it's really annoying. There is, however, a saving grace. KeePassXC is a free and open source password manager that stores all of your passwords locally, so if LastPass get compromised, KeePassXC users can laugh at the idiots who didn't use it.

Part 2

Part 2 will come soon, and will include 3 more things:

  1. Email Client/ Email Service

  2. Operating System

  3. De-Google Tutorial
