Notice: This article contains bad advice. Using outdated operating systems is a bad idea. Don't do it. [10 July 2023]

i used 7 on my main PC for a long time and didn't get hacked once.

Here is how!

Intro:

Windows 7 is the BEST [so is 10]. But EOS was over a year ago now.

This means...NO UPDATES!

That is bad.

Here's what to do to minimize your chances of attack.

Web Browser

Most major browsers support 7.

Chrome...Yes.

Edge...Yes.

Firefox...Yes

Don't use IE, it hasn't been patched in 1+ years.

Antivirus

Malwarebytes supports 7. Microsoft Security Essentials is unsupported but gets definition updates so you can use it.

Most AVs support 7.

Email client!

Don't use Outlook 2016.

Resort to online email like Gmail.com or outlook.com or whatever. If unsure, just ask someone in the Forum.

Office

Office 2016 will get security updates until 10/14/2025. No new features have been added in a long time, but security updates should be there

Office 365 2002 will be supported for some time, but you won't get new features.

Backup

There won't be issues.

In 2020, if you're vigilant, you WILL be able to survive using Windows 7. I did. And I never got any viruses.

Because I used this guide.

I used Windows 7 for a while, but now that my PC broke down I am fully back on Windows 10.
